“In the end everything will leave you.

You’ll have no one by your deathbed.

But remember,

For everything that leaves,

An instant replacement

Lurks deep in the shadows.

Life’s never as empty as it seems

On the deathbed you may feel alone,

But that is because

You ain’t never looked into the cupboard,

Never shone a light upon those dark corners,

Or looked under the bed,

To find those monsters and angels.

At times you don’t even see that which is in front of you,

So close your eyes and

Shut them tight.

Then Imagine with all your might

Those replacements that appeared at

The very moment your loved one left.

Imagine where they might be…

Lurking under the bed?

Scurrying in the corner?

Clinging to the closet?

Are they somewhere unseen?

In the end everything and everyone will leave you

But remember

For all that leaves

Nature will find a replacement…
