Southbank – Eduard Dantes

Always in a hurry to get to the next place you been told to

Why not take a chill pill,

Crack open a beer and observe;

There’s more goin’ on round you than you ever knew.

More goin’ on than we’ll ever know,

Lovers holding hands and dancing;

It might be a honeymoon in London

Or a trip to salvage a relationship that’s failing,

It might even be all else in between

But for the moment

They are happy under Nelson’s gaze.

Where to next?

Maybe follow Nelson’s gaze,

Or just sit and watch with him.

Who knows what you’ll see in London city,

It might be friends on a well earned holiday

Or the lonesome traveller tryin’ to see the world today.

All I know

Is that you’ll probably see more

Than either you or I intended.

his name rhymes with ‘mince’. He’s rarely without a notebook and can usually be found next to the closest bottle of red wine. Previously a writer for The Roehampton Lane Journal.
