What is It? – Eduard Dantes

Always falling in love
With you

No wonder,

Your eyes are everywhere,
Your name on the tip of every tongue
As I chase your curls
To the next platform
For a train departed
And your favourite scent lingering.

Your voice
Sings the songs
Of failed duets

While that dress
With the flowers and memories
Floats about the city
As if to say…

But whenever we are caught up
I drink my fill
Only to fall in love
With you all over again
In another part of town
Where I saw your soul move unburdened
By the discord of life’s music.

his name rhymes with ‘mince’. He’s rarely without a notebook and can usually be found next to the closest bottle of red wine. Previously a writer for The Roehampton Lane Journal.
